Not fully healed

It's a new year and things are going along more or less swimmingly. I'm knee deep in midterms and wondering what on Earth my students were thinking (or not thinking). Everyone's on the up. Smithi got engaged and Marc is expanding his repertoire and learning to tap dance. Junie's got a new man and Kwan is counting down to her return to Thailand. My best friend is doing good. Yet, why do I turn into an emotional wreck when certain songs come on? Maybe I'm not as healed as I'd like to be. The scar tissue is there, but it's so thin, the tiniest prick starts the blood. How morbid of me.

*hugs* It takes time for scar tissue to heal. Sometimes it never heals, you just have to do the best you can. You are doing great. Maybe you could turn the station or leave the room for now? Since it hasn't been that long? Or just face it head on and do the best you can.
