A sensitive issue

Why is so hard to find sensible underwear? Okay, turn away now if the subject of women's undergarments makes you squeamish, coz that's my rant for this post. Still with me? It's like, all you can find are thongs and bikini-cut briefs and other panties that are great if a) you don't want a visible panty line (according to something I once read, it's the "dreaded VPL") or b) someone is actually going to see your unmentionables. Neither of which are particularly great concerns of mine. I just want something - God forbid - normal. Something that goes on under your skirt or pants. That's it. I should have a choice of underwear that doesn't make me feel like I've given myself a wedgie or comes in a package labeled (gasp!) crotchless. What the hell? Okay, I may be naive or dumb, or possibly both, but I never understood the logic behind crotchless panties. Why wear anything at all then? Full briefs. In cotton. Or lycra. Or a blend. Is that too much to ask? Sensible, like I enjoy my shoes.

Final thought: I'm all for nice underthings, but most of the time, I just want comfort. Dental floss just won't cut it.

This post really made me laugh (and I needed that laugh today so thank you!). I fully agree on the crotchless panties, and have never understood why anyone in their right mind would actually part with cash for them.

LOL you said just like what's in my mind. Honestly, I can't stand wearing those sexy undies, I tried a few times before as my friend told me that 'you'd just get used to it if wear them often', and it didn't work, the more I wore, the more I touched my own arse, trying to pull that friggin thingy off! haha. Then I asked myself that, aren't they supposed to cover your arse? Not being between... like this. So I threw them away :op

I'm with you, comfort comes first :D

My girlfriend is an unrelenting devotee of the full-seated panty. Honestly, I like the full-seater. They're cute, they're probably comfortable, and I'm sure they cover everything that needs covering.

But I can't help but think of Cusack's line in Hi-Fidelity: regardless of all the fancy underwear you imagine to be hanging out in a woman's dresser, she'll only wear them when she's going out to meet someone new. If you're just her boyfriend, you'll never see them.

It's a little depressing to think that old boyfriends are only worth old underwear. And of course it wouldn't matter if the aforementioned old boyfriends didn't know about the new underwear.

I haven't worn regular cotton panties in a long time. I've always liked the 3 pairs for 10 Hong Kong dollars. They're just white and sit just right on the waist! I don't even think I could recommend you a brand! I hope you find what you need *L*

I'm glad it got a laugh; it's a laughing issue, I would say. And so glad I have a friend in the "huh? crotchless?" camp. :) Take care.

LOL, poor old boyfriends. Well, if my boyfriend asked me to wear something a bit risque, I'd seriously consider it. Takes the spontaneity out of it though, but it's the same end, hahaha. :)

Thank you, it's definitely an issue. When I was Hong Kong, I snapped up a bunch of panties that were cotton, but they just reach under my bellybutton, which is kinda annoying, but I guess better than a thong. :)
