I walk a lonely road
I just heard this Green Day song, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, recently and I fell in love with it. The gist is basically we're on this long journey called life alone. It's so true. We are all born alone, we die alone - we live alone. No matter how close someone is to us, they can never truly understand how it is to live beneath our skin. Never. By the same token, no matter how hard you try, you can also never know what it's like to inhabit another person's head. It's a sad thought, but it also makes me feel stronger, makes me realize that in the end, the only person who can save me is me. Yes, family, friends and lovers are important, but the only person who is always and forever with you, the only person who can stand to be with you 24/7 is you. You have to learn to take care of yourself, even if it scares the crackers out of you, like it does me. I hope that's not too depressing.
